Day 2

Apparently, after I left yesterday (on Sam's first day of school) Sam cried for 45 minutes. I picked him up early and he was drawing with a crayon on a big piece of paper on the floor. He certainly looked like he wasn't too traumatized!

Today was the big test. We pulled up to the school in the stroller and he pointed to the door. "Uh oh, momma, I know what's going on." We walked in and Terry, one of his teachers, motioned to take him from my arms, and he went to her and put his head on her shoulder. Awwwwww. But when I said goodbye, Sam started crying. I gave him a big hug and kiss and told him I'd be back. I stood outside the door for a few minutes to see if he would stop, and he did. I peeked in the window as I was leaving and he was sitting on Terry's lap playing with something (and not crying)! The report was that he cried off and on for a while, but was easily distracted. Today was a much better day. And he even came home with an art project! They painted cherry blossoms, and apparently Sam actually did most of the work himself. I'm so proud!

P.S. I also came home to find that the A/C stopped working, and it's 90 degrees here. Can someone PLEASE cut me a break? For goodness sakes, my husband is in IRAQ!
